Aqua Athlete was established in 2000 by head coach Adrian Goate, with the vision of providing all levels of swimming instruction to children and adults alike. Through the years of swimming teaching and coaching, we formulated our best practice approach in teaching children, ensuring excellent results for the child or adult and a fun and informative swimming experience.

Our specialist squad and masters coaching programme advances swimmers through the application of the correct swimming techniques thereby improving swimming proficiencies. All swimmers in the squad or Masters programme have the option of joining the Aqua Athlete Club to further develop their speed and racing ability. Aqua Athlete employs 18 instructors and teaches over 800 swimmers of all ages a year, with our Learn-to-Swim and stroke correction programme covering 60 percent of our clientele.

All Aqua Athlete instructors are accredited with Swimming South Africa (SSA), Central Gauteng Aquatics (CGA) and SwimAmerica. A high standard of teaching and coaching is maintained by all Aqua Athlete instructors through regular attendance of refresher swimming courses ensuring Aqua Athlete instructors remain at the forefront with regards to swimming teaching and coaching practices.
